Pros & cons ? ... I am emigrating to the US in 18mths but have sold my house here in Kent. I have been offered a lovely 35ft pusher with twin slide outs. It will figure out to be cheaper than renting a 1 bed flat here for 18mths &... YES I have the legality of that squared away. I have a place to park it but my question is... I would like to move around every few weeks. How do sites view these ? TBH it is no longer than a 4x4 & large van. Anybody have one ?

Oops just noticed it was for your stay in the UK. You would be better off buying a caravan as it will be easier to sell after the 18 months plus you then only have one vehicle to scoot around to shops etc. Bonus is just about every site will accept a caravan and that includes CLs etc.

Wonder what its mpg is?
I don’t think most sites will have a problem, I’ve seen big RVs on a number of larger sites, some towing small cars. But some sites might not have long enough pitches, especially if the pitches are terraced into a slope as there’s no scope to overhang.

-------------
2024 = 18 sites / 38 nights. 2023 = 9/23. 2022 = 13/35. 2021 = 11/29. 2020 = 4/20. 2019 = 13/35. 2018 = 20/33. 2017 = 10/22. 2016 = 19/33. 2015 = 15 sites / 27 nights. Didn't count 1976 to 2014.

Thanks... MPG is not that much of an issue for me as I wont be going any serious distance & will only move it every 3 or 4 weeks. I have worked with HGVs for a very long time & can get a good deal on a bunker fuel keyfuels card . Normally a good few pence off per litre advertised at the pumps. The motor is an inline 6 cummins pusher Turbo with 300bhp sitting on a Freightliner chassis.The whole shooting match comes in just shy of 8 tonnes so it will hardly break a sweat.Even if I decided to hitch a car trailer with my pick up on it. Yes I do have an HGV 1 or C+E whatever it is they call it now lol.My main niggles is finding sites I can rock up to for a few weeks at a time.Obviously I would get my daughter to bring along the pick up. I understand the thing is a bit of a lump & quite a few places will not entertain them . Not only the lengh but the width too once the slide outs are deployed.

I am also open to a 5th wheeler with slide outs . I have lived in caravans before & even a tandem axle 6 berth with just me & a dog .. got a bit claustraphobic after a couple of months. But yes i went for a drive round a few places this weekend & saw some lovely island bed units. An island bed is a redline for me.
