I recently contemplated buying one but at 83 the insurance cost was ridiculous!
I have over 25 years no claims on my car but as I sold my motorhome 5 years ago they wouldn't count the no claims I had earned on that so would have had to start afresh. I have never had any convictions or points on my licence in 65 years driving.
I had a quote from Adrian Flux for £3330,one from Ensure for £2240 the best was Saga at £1338,that was for a used transit van factory built conversion for £39000
I could get several foreign holidays just for the cost of the insurance!
