Hi everyone. My citroen relay 2014 van has started switching off central locking while driving say rear doors open but they are not the locking works fine. Van locks and opens with fob. So this message must be a fault. And I noticed it only happens when I make a tightish right turn. Ie on motorway today' it was fine once left mway it started again at 1rst roundabout. 😭
Sounds like something for a good independent garage: assuming the van is like a car, they’d plug it into the computer & it would say if a sensor was broken. I’m not a mechanic, this is just based on something similar happening to our car.
Similar problem on side door of fist Ducato. The Ducato has an oval plate with electric pads that connect with the door. On ours it started to alarm on certain corners / bends. The fixed panel (the bit on the body) had become a little loose (age?) - wedged small parking ticket behind the loose edge - worked fine ever since.
Hi there. Thank you for reply. I can see the panel on side door. And it has crossed my mind. But the message I get is saying Rear doors open
Problem I. Have is I can't see any sensor like components at rear doors
Their is a flat plate at top of van door recess but don't know if that's just to operate internal light that comes on when doors are open
Hugh
Sure its the back doors my 2014 relay shows warning for back doors when its actually the side sliding door sensors.
Sometimes you can reset sensors by closing all doors and either quickly locking and unlocking the drivers door with master key 3 times, alternatively sit inside vehicle and turn ignition on and off 3 times this resets the sensor.
If its wear on the sensor pad than as others have said some packing behind the sensor works well good luck.
Bit late to the party but our works Relay van 2017 has the same fault. Apparently it's a common fault on Citroen / Peugeot / Fiat vans, all use a common chassis. Ours still not sorted.
