I have toured Spain & France in our MH using ADAC for our Breakdown Cover which is no longer available and have not ventured abroad since. Another problem is our MH although in excellent condition with service history is 25yrs young and we love it but those offering cover do not.
We are members of the AA but the price they want is sky high as is other providers but regardless of price how reliable is the cover when you need it
Anyone able to give recommendations we can trust, we would like another Spanish Roadtrip but with peace of mind.
We have our UK and European breakdown through our bank account which is a Nationwide Flex Plus account. I am not sure if they have any restrictions on age of vehicle or size of MH etc so you would need to read the small print, but it works for us with our car and caravan. We have had to use it several times in the UK and once abroad and have found it very good.
Nationwide require Vehicles which are in a roadworthy condition and which are serviced and maintained in line with manufacturer guidelines and which meet all legal regulations, including if appropriate, having an MOT certificate and any applicable vehicle tax
Many thanks for all the replies, will look into the options mentioned.
The MH has proved totally reliable for the 10yrs we have owned it and it's last MOT 9 months ago only gave a very minor advisory but that's no guarantee.
Have checked out Red Pennant and they have a 10yr limit for full cover.
They will consider older vehicles but with much reduced breakdown cover
Back to the drawing board !!!
