i have just become a user this year, thankfully i can manage with a boot scooter so that fits in the back of my car, which is fine as we tow a caravan. but well your posting under the motorhome section so im guessing that is what you would be using, so would and van with its own built in garage be out of the question? or could you stretch to buying a smaller scooter that you could fit into one of the lockers?
I think the only way to transport it is to put it on or in a trailer. I have a smaller one that weighs 62kg, we can take the batteries off to make it lighter to move and transport and we can just get it through the garage door of our motorhome.
There's quite a range of scooters available for different requirements.
Ours breaks down into 4 parts to travel in the boot. I've seen others advertised that fold up to suitcase size and are accepted as luggage on aircraft. Others are suitable for off-roading.
I think it's a case of shopping around and finding one that will meet their requirements.
hi, I ave just upgraded to this large scooter as my little boot scooter was rubbish out and about, ideal for hospital and shopping centres but no use off road, I also have an e bike which is ideal when away with caravan but can't go to shows with it,
perhaps you should have been looking at some of the bigger wheeled boot scooters such as the tvg ones? mine is a careco one and manages fine on grass on the rally fields. although i wouldnt take it on proper off road hikes, having the larger wheels makes it a little more comfortable/able. and fits in the back of the car no bother
we carry an Efoldi (I think they call it the explorer now) with us inside the motorhome when we are away it only weighs 17kg, as our Motorhome is only 5.2m long it is ideal. I have seen other larger types tin a trailer towed behind but the Efoldi is perfect for my wife's needs as it has a range of about 11 miles and can run on rough ground and grass, although i changed the front tyre to an off road type from a childs bicycle to give it more grip (front wheel drive) on sloping wet grass.
