Hi I have a carver cascade 2 gas water heater
I’m getting a green light then a yellow light & no firing up ? Is the heater powered by the main van battery which I know needs replacing or is it off the leisure batteries
Pulling my hair out trying to sort this
Welcome to UKCS. There are plenty of threads about this heater, try the Forum Search facility. And it will not be powered by any battery as far as I know / from my experience - heat needs too much oomph. It’ll be Gas or electric.
I can only say that we had this heater years ago & it’s not made anymore. The gas fired part stopped working when it burnt out, and it couldn’t be replaced. We had to get a new gas fired / EHU heater.

If I remember right the yellow light is low battery. It does definitely need a battery but the battery does not provide the heat. What it does is runs the heater's electronics and provides ignition. The heat comes from the gas and/or mains electricity if it is so fitted. Mine was gas only, but later ones had an electric element as well. I don't know about your particular van, but I would have expected the heater to operate from the leisure battery. First thing to check, in my opinion, is the battery voltage going to the heater. I suspect it may be low.
If you have no joy contact Gary at Arc Systems, he is the font of all carver knowledge.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Does the boiler need a reset? On the inward end of the boiler there is a small swing plate held in place with a screw. If you loosen/remove the screw the plate can be moved to allow access to the reset button.
If you are getting a green light then a yellow one it tells me that the igniter is working fine but as it's not firing up it could due to the fact that it has detected that there is insufficient or no water in the tank. It is a fail safe device for safety reasons so make sure that your water system is full first by turning on the water taps independently for evidence that the water system is full and that any air locks in the system have been removed.
I have just taken a look at the instructions in the link from Paul B and it would seem to confirm what I said earlier. Green and yellow lights indicate low battery voltage.
It is however a good idea to make sure the hot water tank is full before trying to fire it up.
