Hi guys thanks for allowing me to join, sadly my dad past away recently, he has left his motorhome which was his pride and joy built over the last 2 years, I have details pictures etc, I'm struggling to work out a value and what we should expect to advertise this at.

Any advice would be appreciated
Tia

Really sorry to hear about your dad.
Have a look at Autotrader, and Gumtree. Online, in other words. There will be similar self-builds to compare it with. You could try advertising it on UKCS, in the For Sale section.
Not tempted to go away in it first though ? (Assuming paperwork is in order for you, of course.)

Sorry for your loss. The best way of getting a value is to search for the make/model/year of the motorhome on Google as that should give you a ball park figure for its value. What it might sell for is completely different as it depends how you sell it. The easiest way is to sell it to a dealer but obviously you will get a lot less than the market value by about 20/25% People like Motorhome Depot will sell it on your behalf on a brokerage basis so you might get a little more. Values of used motorhomes seem to be stalling a bit and some of the major buyers that advertise are not buying at the moment.

The administrator would only use the trade in value when valuing the unit and not what it could possibly sell for as most stuff from an estate goes on auction. It could fetch a high or low price as it is a self build.

Self build can be more difficult to cost out if the layout is quirky & personal to someone’s needs or preferences. However, I assume it was done on a short or long wheelbase van rather than a horse box, so I suggest you check, say, Panel Van Conversions PVCs by the big makes - try AutoCruise, Auto-Sleeper etc - and see if there’s a similar layout, plus or minus raising roof, awning, toilet & shower, fridge, oven etc. Then look for that model in Autotrader etc in the right age bracket. Keep a copy of everything so that you can justify your valuation.
Or … go to a dealer & ask what they’d give you for it (be prepared to wince, but you might want a low valuation if there’s tax involved on your dad’s estate?)

for a self build that looks really professional, unlike a lot of them. it must of taken some thought to get that double passenger seat to swing correctly

My dad was multi trade and a bit of a perfectionist in some ways, the seat of I remember was raised in order to turn, he then made a carpeted foot board rest for when forward as his wife had short legs lol

He went to town on this van all built in the last 2 years prior to his diagnosis, sadly he barely got to use it.
It has 3k worth of batteries and solar alone, the van started it's life as a welfare unit with the usual toilet and washing facilities
