I've just bought a 1997 Ford Transit Hi-Cube 190 Xtra. How should I go about wiring it up. I've looked through the forum about it and am a little confused. I want to have a leisure battery to run the lights in the back and possibly use an inverter to power a tv if I didnt have a mains supply. I've seen the split charge wiring diagram and could manage to wire that up. Where do you get a split charge relay from? and how much are they? also what size leisure battery do I need?

Also, how do you wire up the mains supply? Do you wire this up seperately? or have it so you can switch between the two? What sort of cable would be required and how do you wire it up safely? Are any special components needed?

Any advice or sites that cover this would be greatly appreciated.

You can buy a splitcharger kit from most caravan accessory shops (just seen one tonight whilst looking for something else ;) ) or online stores like just kampers.

Maplins will also sell everything you might need (ok maybe not the second fuse box).  You can also try scrapyards for the relay and fusebox.

What's the big deal with not allowing some url's?
