We have an Elddis Autostratus, fitted with the usual Zig unit and a solar panel. We find that the charge in both the vehicle & leisure battery dies away over a few days or at most a couple of weeks of storage, even though it's usually on an electric hook-up during storage. We've even had to get a jump-start after a couple of days on site, on a hook-up. Does anybody have any suggestions as to what might be going on? The vehicle battery is fairly new, the leisure battery hasn't been changed in the 2 years we've had the 'van, but the problem's been there all along anyway.

 Is the solar panel fitted with a diode ?.

  something must be draining battery

I agree that something's draining the batteries, I do try to turn everything off, fridge & Status TV amp being the most likely candidates to be forgotten.

I'll try & find out if the panel has a diode, the wiring's all a bit of a rat's nest though!

have you checked the charge rate and if its ok have you tried disconecting the battery to see if it holds its charge

they said it couldnt be done so i left it and went camping

a bad days camping is better than a good day at work
