after reading this message board and other , it seems as if there is more choice of campervans in Germany so we may now be considering picking one up on the cheap in Germany. does anyone know of any good dealers over there? thanks in advance.

This link has many dealers listed Womo Links look under WOMO-HÄNDLER (Dealers) some of the links don't work & many are in German only but if you use Babel Fish you can usually figure out what they are about.

have a look on www.mobile.de, which is the biggest site for dealers and private advertisers. After you open it click on " wohnmobile & wagen suchen " and you get the menu for motorhomes in front. You have to put your choices in and it will give you hundreds for sale for the price you want.

we  bumped into some people in france travelling for a year.  Their website is europix.co.uk and I think it has details on there of the company that they bought their germany van from.  It is a uk company that imports them and he couldn't speak highly enough of them.  Saved around £13000 on the UK price too.
