Hello peeps,

As some of you know, I’m new to the world of MHing, anyway, I’ve been looking around the interweb at all accessories you can buy and I thought before I go and buy a load of stuff that I’ll never use, I’d ask you what has been the most useful accessory you have bought.

But is it essential if I've already got a wind out awning.

I carry very little around but class the Silver Screens and the black waste water container as my important items.  Don't feel that an awning is important to me at this point.

Hi,

I agree silver screens have got to be somewhere near the top of the list. I camped without using them and froze. Also I think gas portable lamps are handy for when there's no hook up and the 12v fails.

Definitely got to agree about the silver screens especially if you buy the ones that you can fit the mesh screen to. The mesh screen velcros to it but means you can pull down the front in the morning to let daylight in but the mesh means no-one can see in but you can see out. It really does make a difference and helps keep the heat in or the sun out and stops all the condensation - wouldn't be without it!

I think ours has got to be a 12V submersible pump.  I know some people are happy to top up the water with a watering can or container - but I like filling the aquaroll and pumping the whole 40L in - then I can shower knowing I won't run out.

Silver Screens are an absolute must too!

Forgot about the hi tech "funnel with a length of hose attached" for days when you don't want to move the van.  DebbyM has seen the exitement of this piece of equipment at Bruce's lol.

30m food grade flat wind up cassette hose - storm lanterns that burn citronella oil - very small very very quiet Honda unleaded generator - (we tried a very large, very cheap very very noisy diesel one first. It is quite amazing how much noise a generator can produce) tomtom Satnav (don't forget the patented tomtom reset tool)
