Hi Sunseeker,
I'm new to this forum, I've managed to escape from another where the threads have been ruined by a personal feud between to contributors. Now to your question, I concur with Bill1953. If you were to try an design and build a trailer to meet you needs you will probbaly end up either not getting the sums right for the stresses (you have to consider the dynamic loads) or you will end up with an over engineered product that has cost more than buying a manufactured product.
There are some bargains to be had.
