it will go in with only the gearstick hole cut - but its a much better job if you weld in the whole mk3 floor (the raised area around the g/box)

you will aslo need the crossmember and prop!!

hi there ....as luke says you will need to chop the floor a little... and is best to cut floor out mk3 round gearstick to weld it in your mk1 for a neat job that way you can fit the mt75 gearstick boot as well.... you will need the bolts as well ,... as the prop bolts on both ends, you will need to get the prop cut to size n balanced etc ,you need a cross member from a twin wheeled mk 3 complete with gearbox rubber mount,................ sometimes you can come across this problem........the flange on the back axle to bolt the prop to being  too small,in this case you need a flange of a mk 3 axle,....the flanges sometimes tap of ,other times you need a puller, you must be careful when tighting on a new flange as you can collapse a spacer on the pinnion...,also if your mk is fitted with a current centre mounted gearbox via a large bush to the floor you will need to drill holes and have long bolts, reinforcing plates, bolts n washers to fill the later cross member hope this helps very best wishes billy in brum :-)
