need to get a sat nav for the new van; need one that does europe as well as uk and also take input for rear view camera. suppose one that can be uploaded with pc software would be good.

Hi - I posted a similiar thread not so long ago and several replies were as follows:

Garmin Streetpilot i3,  Navman pin300,  Medion pocket pc,  Tomtom go 700 and 500, and lastly M10269.  I think all of these can have Europe downloaded into them. Hope this helps

If you are looking to have a rear camera utilising the same screen as the sat nav then most stand alone units do not have a AV input so they cannot be used.

You may have to look at a indash unit like the systems by Pioneer/Alpine.This way you have a integral Sat Nav/Radio/Cd player and is able to use a camera for the back.Problem is their not cheap

The cap who runs this site www.soh.me.uk has a mini lcd in the cab, on which he can veiw the rear of his van and his gps off a laptop

I use my Tom Tom in Europe and UK works a treat.  Have recommended it to loads of friends we also use then in the vans of our haulage company.

We used to have an older style 'Sat Nav' tried our Tom Tom out this week that we bought from Halfords brilliant and you can download speed cameras on it as well as Europe, wouldn't want to go back to the old one now, but it has come in useful for our Son to have as a back up when we are away at the same time.
