Evening,

Personal question this time, so to speak! My mum has been talking about buying herself a motorhome for some time and now post-retirement has started to do the rounds of the shows and dealers etc.

A friend has recommended Nu Venture in Wigan, who I haven't dealt with in a 'professional' capacity and know relatively little about. She is very taken with one of their vans (the Rio Sand on a Scudo base) but would like more independent advice/recommendations before she goes for it.

Would really appreciate any ideas, experiences or advice.

Hi, we've just picked our Nu Venture motorhome today, it's the Junior version (secondhand) and so far we love it, although we have only had it for 6 hours! The thing that struck me about it was the quality of the interior (cushions and woodwork) and the brilliant use of space. I live in Wigan and they have an excellent reputation round here.

There are 2 NuVentures in Wigan, the original firm and a new version who seem to have a wider range of vans. I understand that it was originally 2 brothers - 1 wanted to expand and 1 didn't. as for their 'vans I had a long chat with some one who had bought a conversion on a Ford Transit, it looked very good although too tall for my taste, the owner was full of praise for NV who had apparently added little touches to personalise the van to his requirements.

Your best bet is possibly to go and see them [both] is this convenient - you don't say where you live?

We got our van from Nu venture Campers, Kevin & Stewart do the conversions to your own spec. We have had ours for nearly 3 years and the quality of workmanship is excellent.

Thanks for all the info, I'll pass it on. I'll also pop in and visit both sites sometime (I'm based at Sheffield (I normally post on here as 'Towsure' - as I just have by mistake!) but my mum is in South Manchester, so Wigan is quite convenient).
