When leaving a motorhome in storage for a length of time is it recommended

that you leave the handbreak off. 

If you can chock the wheels and safely leave the handbrake off it would be very advantagous, namely it will prevent the pads sticking to the disks and secondly stop the cable being under tension all the storage period.

I find that people do leave thehandbrake off,stick it in first gear and chock the wheels

But

Others leave the handbrake on and jam the clutch pedal down to prevent the clutch parts sticking together.

I tend to do neither as i use the van all year

Its down to personal choice

I agree depressing the clutch would put a lot of strain on the clutch release mechanism and would lead to premature failure .

I have to leave my handbrake on and chock the wheels as its parked on a slope.Ive never had any problems with sticking brakes drums or disc models but i do move the MH regularly

 Im more bothered about the tyres being ruined by flattening them and being distorted out of shape, its happened once and it wont again so move them regularly just a foot will do.
