We are off to pick up our motorhome this morning Im so excited as this is our first one.It seemed as if to-day would never come. only about 90mls to go over to Darlington to Barrons. Now im worried in case we cant get it in the drive lol couldnt sleep thinking about all the things that could go wrong.how silly it seems in the morning everything gets magnified in the night . lol.
Happy travelling how has ur first day as a MH owner gone and has all your fears dissapeared now u have it???? (ur money def will lol - we have a newer camper and over the last 2 weeks have spent loads on her!!!!)
Maybe you are too busy playing with the van, but if you read this, hope all is well with it. We slept in ours on the driveway the 1st night as we were so excited.
Hi lol yes all is well had so many vi sitors to -day taking viewings now lol should be charging (help pay for it )well Alan as getting everything to work to-day..........ummmm eventually got the hot water on electric ...got skye dish to go up and couldnt get it down again lol , tomorrow sort the stuff out ,we emptied the caravan stuff into crates so HWMBO says only half the JUNK he calls it can go back in.. ha ha .might go away for 2 nights at the weekend cant contain ourselves.grandchildren fighting who`s turn it is to go away with us we normally only take one at a time with us.
I have just bought our first Motorhome after 30 years of camping and caravanning. Went for test drive today and was soooo nervous. Don't know why as I have been driving a Transit van at work for 4 months, the motorhome is a tranny as well! Haven't slept since signing the line two days ago, doubt if I shall sleep again till we pick it up at the beginning of next month. Ita like all my 65 christmas's rolled into one.
So Corrie I would like to know how you coped with all the excitement.

Well just back had 3 lovely nights in our motorhome...everything worked ok ..except one blind refused to budge for us.and top blind wouldnt stay closed.. lol.however been on to Barrons and just to take it down and get them fixed so thats ok with us.we went to musslebourgh for 2 night and joined in with the motor caravan club then were going home but went to Newcastleton .. for a night didnt want to come home.hopefully we are away again mid week till sunday.it was lovely to drive into park and just sit... we didnt know what to do ..no water to fetch! and containers to put out. just made the coffee and sat there lol it is a bit easier just the electric hookup to put on lol.We had a go putting up our freestanding awning this afternoon I suppose it will be ok after the first few times.... It was nice and warm didnt feel the cold and the dogs were fine got harnesses to put on them for travelling didnt fancy one of them landing on the back of my head.
Hi Corrie, Glad to hear you had a good first time out with your new van.
Did you join the motorcaravan club? We have been members for 17 years and we have lots of good friends and we've had many good memories of rallies and holidays with them.
Its a juster down the side of the house corrie aint it? glad ur happy with t it looks great - weve got a freestanding awning too havent attempted to put it up yet getting leccy sorted next week cant wait to get away in her well be like u when we pull up - lost as dont know what to do with ourselves as not having to put tent up, fetch water etc etc.
LOL thats why I couldnt sleep thinking the van wouldnt go down the side of the house but it has about 8" each side so its ok its the length its 7.3 mtrs so we have to mount the pavement and the grass accross the road to get out and hold up the traffic but its ok lol. Yes we have joined the motorcaravan club the scottish section.. so never know might meet up with you sometime. The one at the weekend was amazing all the motorhomes in one place .everyone was really nice we just arrived non members and uninvited but were made very welcome. They have lots of overnight stops you can use and other benifits .
I am jealous. Bought a folding camper but I still want a motorhome as well! It looks lovely. Barrons at Darlington. A word of warning. Many complaints about their aftersales service. BE FIRM WITH THEM AND TAKE NO EXCUSES OR NONSENSE. I am sure it will be fine though. For every unhappy customer there is most probably 10 happy ones.
