Looking forward to retiring at the end of the week had some good news today my camper passed the MOT I am more used to the dreaded words 'just a couple of things need doing' We were planning on travelling to Germany near the end of April to look for an A class motorhome but we are probably going to go sooner now (hopefully next week)
Looking through all the German websites for 'Gebrauchte Reisemobile' I have listed over 300 dealers & created Mappoint pushpins & a TomTom POI file, so it looks like we will be travelling around Germany quite a bit. We have a month before we have to be back for some family business but hopefully that should be enough.
I was going to ticker factory my retirement in, but it seems that ticker factory can't count that high :(
Anyway - good luck with retirement/new bus/remembering to come back after a month..... (I only usually remember that I have to come back to work when the bank is empty)
I've just gone a most unattractive shade of green!
We want to go fulltiming around the world when we retire in about 3 years and it can't come soon enough.
Hope you find the van of your dreams and that your retirement is long and happy.

are you the ones we met at the bonfire meet last year, ann (wife) was looking to chat to you again.
Panagah
Didn't really consider retirement until I got into my fifties, I did try to leave at 55 but I would have lost too much on my pension. What really made me focus on what's important in life is having a heart attack & by-pass. Given the choice I would rather have the 27 years to go to retirement than going this week (in hindsight I would do many things different)
Floppy
We didn't go to the bonfire meet (we didn't go to very many meets last year) but maybe we'll see you this year as we have all the time in the world
Thanks to everybody else & hopefully we will see a lot of you this year. If all goes well we will be selling our Renault Trafic sometime in May if anybodys interested at the moment it's got just over 12 months MOT
good luck with ur retirement and enjoy it youve earned it - im waiting for my six numbers to come up and then ill be retiring failing that ill have to wait another 40 yrs
Last day at work, weird but glad it's over. Strange to think that I probably won't be seeing many of the people who I have worked with again.
Didn't get a clock but could never understand why anybody who's retiring would want a clock There have been quite a few of us leaving as changes to our pension rules have made a lot of people take the money & run Had a bit of a presentation yesterday but I chickened out of telling everybody what I really thought of the place, just mumbled my thanks & said how much I enjoyed working with everybody. Spent most of the afternoon at the works club at 2 other guys retirement party, enjoyed it better than mine as I could relax more.
So come on Ed. What memento did you get to remember your time working by.
Glad it wasn't a clock as now you are retired you don't need to be any certain place at any certain time bar a few boring things you always have to do.
What I got was a nice travel case, a pen & best of all a an envelope stuffed with cash (people know what I like) I'm keeping it to buy something special once we get our next motorhome which hopefully should be within the next month. Planning on getting the ferry before next weekend & then off to Germany. Found one German dealer who will deliver the van back to the UK registered with the DVLA for 2000€, this could save me a lot of hassle.
We are in Pendine Summerhill, I'll have to look out for your van. Ours being a panel van conversion doesn't stand out much but wait until next month & hopefully we will have a nice A class to show off with
