Have a look at lot of motorhomes old and new, you need to look at what your budget is, as well as whether you will be using this van to drive around in instead of a car, actually there are loads of other things to think about, myself I have a 1989 VW Transporter which I am in the middle of fully converting, it had a bed and a cupboard before, as of this weekend it will have electric hook-up :) Hopefully tonight I will have replaced the broken pump switch so it will also have next week fresh and waste water fitted as well and then the units will be fitted so I will have a sink unit, which will also house my cooler (fridges appartently are not that good) I have also built a cupboard to hold my leisure battery and at the back I have a double unit for pots and pans and food, my underbead storage will hold clothes and stuff - its all sorted!  Oh and mine is a 2 berth and a flat top, an awning is going to provide the extra space, this is so Im not restricted by a hightop and may one day have a pop top fitted but as I am not very tall this is not urgent lol.  Oh and it is also my day van So good luck on your choice.

When we had motorcaravans we found they were great until we wanted to go out of the campsite. You either drive them off and that means re packing everything and disconnecting, or you leave it parked and walk or catch a bus. WE nearly bought a Winibago so we could tow a car, we were that keen.

We did use bikes but they got pinched at the beginning of one holiday leaving us stuck and ruining the holiday.

Small campervans like the VW Transporters can be driven into carparks but you have limited space and comfort and you still need to pack and shuffle cushions etc.

The answer for us is a folding camper. It tows easily behind our VW Golf auto diesel and has more space than the largest twin axle caravan we owned and no beds to convert.

Hi and welcome. We've just bought a VW transporter (check out the pictures) and love it. Good luck.
