took delivery 2 weeks ago of 06 registered compass avantgarde 300 ,got back home quite excited ,opened rear door to go into van but forgot to remove keys from lock, swung door open and heard the sickening thud of bunch of keys denting the side(what a sickener or what)i now have the first dimple on the van after only 90 mls.apart from small disaster i am well pleased with the van.has engine upgrade to 2.2 and drives like a family saloon rather than a 5 berth motorhome.any body else had any disasters on first day of motorhome.when we collected ours at perthshire caravans there were 3 vans being picked up,and im sure the salesmen were taking bets as to who would make it home in one piece!!!
Welcome to UKCS and congratulations on your new motorhome. I'm sure you'll be extra vigilent now after your little mishap but it could have been worse. We've been very happy with our Avantgarde in almost every respect. Hope you enjoy every moment.
nice van you have, we have a 200, and its good. mine is only a 2003, 200 but we think its real great. 3,700 miles, 1 owner.looks like new inside. i hope you have as much fun as we do.

floppy
Careful floppy, we might start a club . We originally had a 52 100 but changed to a 04 200 when our grandaughter 'grew up' and decided she wanted to go on holiday with her friends. In fact we prefer the rear lounge much better.

Don 'n' Jean
sounds good,
do you have problems with your leisure battery, as mine is drawing 1/4 amp with nothing turned on and its flat in a few days. cant find a problem but somthing is not right, so i thought i would ask if you had the same problem.
On the first outing with the caravan I unwound the jockey wheel that far that it fell off and the van crashed to the floor, after many swear words were exchanged we brought a motor home which I then reveresed into a wall on our first trip out and smashed the rear lights nad bumper!
Had third trip at weekend to Tantallon park,North Berwick, brilliant site, after camping for a few years motorhome is luxury, life changing investment, wish i could have afforded one a few years ago,ive been missing out, cheers
