I will have a look behind the dash pod.Its well worth a try.As a last resort I was thinkink of sending away for a pressure gauge from JUSTKAMPERS and disconect the wires to the warning light and the buzzer.First thing come to mind is the sender unit,as Nannycath suggesteg, but i had new one fitted in the garage.Dont think I can leave it and go camping couse that buzzer would drive me MAD.

Hi steve if the oil pressure as been tested and is ok then it is a fault elsewhere you say you had a new pressure switch fitted so i think the problem lies with the wire/s connecting to the switch somewhere the wire is probley cut through the outer cover and earthing to the body and this would the cause the light/buzzer to come on ( when the oil pressure drops the switch earths ! ) so look for a break good luck Paul.

Hi Steve

Here's a link to an article written about the 'Buzzer of Doom' (AKA dodgy oil pressure buzzer).  Its a known problem in T25s.  The article is written by a guy who knows these vehicles inside and out!

Have a read and see if it works for you:

Buzzer of Doom is a very interesting article.I didnt even know that I had a buzzer untill it went off with the oil warning light. Now I know that the oil pressure is OK and after reading the above article its not so bad after all.Buzzer of Doom is a perfect discription when you travel on the motorway at night and the buzzer go off.I will disconect it for now untill I find the problem,so for the time beeing UP THE BUZZER

Hi there

I have just read this forum and respectively the article about the 'buzzer of doom'.

Let me tell you that we most definitely have a 'buzzer of doom' and it is of the 'comes on just for a laugh' variety.  4 days into a two week trip round the Dordogne enough was enough.

I worked out that it was obvoiously a fault in one of the oil pressure senders and decided, in my wisdom to disconnect the two way plug to fool the system.  After about 2 hours of mucking about, losing the skin from both sets of knuckles and almost destroying the connector (obviously untouched since manufacture 1991) I had managed to disconnect and wrap both ends of the connector with electrical tape.  Eureka no more buzzer.  Keys in ignition and off we jolly well go.

For all you enthusiasts out tere this is NOT the way to fix the problem.  This in fact turns the 'comes on just for a laugh' variety into a 'permanently on' variety.

So for all you campers out there refer to the article

http://194.242.159.246/brickyard/info/dop.htm

as listed also above, this is a much better solution.

Fiona

my velle kept doing this, thing seems possesed switches between the water light flashing indicator light coming on when it wants!! fixed my one for a short time by cleaning the contact strips in the dash pod but my water light still flashes now and again just to wind me up.

you got to love em just for their entertainment value and a few grey hairs.

cheers

Strange things happening with my electrics.Like Fionahg,I disconected the two wires from the newly fitted pressure switches.I could hardly belive my ears when the buzzer started off again. Now i guess that the wires must be shorting out somewere. The buzzer been going on and off for quite a few weeks now and slowly loseig  its voice at LONG LAST.

But after all the little problems I love the old van just the same.
