We have had our motorhome (Laika Laserhome 57) for over a year now but have always had elec hookup when we've been away.  We will be going away next weekend without electric and cannot work out how to get our fridge to work on the gas.

Anyone out there got an idiots guide or suggestions on what we should try. The manual we got with it is in French./

What sort of fridge is it Dee and Bob ?

On the Dometic/Electrolux one we had you turned one of the knobs held it in for a few seconds then flicked the ignition button on it and continue to hold in for about 20 secs.  The one we had you could quite clearly see when it was lit by looking in the fridge and there was a small covered hole at the back and you could tell.

Perhaps the fridge maker have a website you could download the intructions from. Some of them are very good.

Hope this helps and have a good weekend away.

If you own a Electrolux/Dometic fridge you can go here http://www.dometicmanuals.com:8080/dometic/masterdometic.nsf?Opendatabase and put as much info as possible you may be able to download an instruction manual in pdf format or even select your model of fridge and get a manual sent to you via e-mail.

Hope this helps to keep you cool

Hi,

Most of the gas fridges are very susceptable to being levle, about 6 degrees out of level will stop them working.

Level the van and then try it again.
