I currently own a motorhome but feel once I get where I am going, its too big to go off touring the area in.  I've been looking at demountables as they seem to be the ideal solution but I'm sure there are others with experience or knowledge that may tell me different.  Anyone have any views on demountables? good? bad? indifferent?  Whatever I'd like to hear.

Never liked those blue faces - Ive never seen a demountable - demounted!  How big is our Motorhome? Could you tow a car? We have a VW which is the perfect size for getting out and about although I would'nt want to drive it through the harbour streets of St Ives! But then I wouldn't drive the car through either (blindness).  Caravan is another option or big car and tent!

Yes our Motorhome is probably big enough to tow a car as well but I don't really fancy that option.  It must increase your fuel consumption and it makes it difficult to stop anywhere on route which is why I'm not too keen on the idea of a caravan.  For example when we went to the meet in Essex last month we stopped off at an animal/butterfly place on our way back.  I thought at the time that would not have been possible if towing a caravan because of the restriction of parking.  I have thought about a bigger motorhome with garage space that could house a motorbike though. As for the big car and tent - been there, done that, got the T shirt, but  now, in later life, I prefer having a the home comforts that a motorhome can give.  That's why a demountable seems like the ideal outfit but there aren't many out there and I have never spoken to anyone who has had one.  Thanks for your comments though and getting rid of my blue face!!

There's some info on demountables on this website

http://www.agm-apollo.co.uk/

If you go to motorhome sales, there are a couple for sale.

These have a UK outlet as well

http://www.tischer.ch/gb/04/04.html

Both in the north I'm afraid.

Jules
