I was crusing the tent section and saw someone had asked what people do with their EHU when away from tent - incase it got nicked - which left me wondering - when we go on a trip out of the campsite we obviously unhook the EHU from the van and the main electric point and put it away. Is this was everyone does - or do some of you leave your cable behind and hope its still there when you get back?
I haven't had this issue yet as not moved the van! It would be good if there was some universal arrangement re marking reserved pitches as a couple of weeks ago I legged it after a couple next to us thinking they had left their table and chairs behind but they were off out for the day and had put them there to 'reserve' their EHU
I had a lovely long 25 metre EHU cable a couple of years ago. Went out for the day and left it to show the pitch was occupied. When I came back some nice fellow camper had swopped it for a 15 metre one with a plug that had a bit missing so used to unscrew itself sometimes.
Daft thing was, because it was orange, it wasn't until a couple of trips later when I needed a longer cable that I realised it wasn't mine - so can't even say which site it was it happened at.

If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, just keep going till you go round the bend.
Really I can't blame the fact that it was a motorhome - could have been done while we were hooked up and on site for all I know. In the middle of the night I wouldn't notice the EHU going off for a minute while they swapped it.
Anything you leave can be nicked but mostly people on campsites are honest.

Depends on the weather really. If it is dry I will undo both ends and leave it on the pitch, if it is a bit iffy I put each end in a bag and leave or roll it up and take.
Thankfully Caz haven't had ours pinched like that although we did get a blue one to match the van lol.
Jen I seem to remember you have nice chairs so better watch out for 100acrewood lol.

Why leave your EHU or indeed anything worth nicking? Get one of those "motorhome using pitch" signs with your reg. number on it.
They would nick that too!!
Personalised m/home pitch sign 'cheap as chips' from MMM this month, £1.75 I think.
