Sorry tentpeg I do not agree at all we would definitely not be better off with a caravan and at the end of the day this is our choice and it suits us perfectly thank you . We love having the motorhome, we love the total freedom of it and the fact that if we want to wild camp then we can. Everything is onboard, water tank, waste tank etc and if we are touring around (which we love to do) and suddenly out of the blue come across some beautiful, idyllic location we can just find somewhere to park up and that's it we can stay there for the night. We don't need to hook up to electric, we don't need a water supply, as it is all ready stored on board and we can just do what we want, when we want ..... ooh total bliss! We don't then have to return miles back to a campsite to hook the caravan up, travel back and then search for a suitable campsite in the area which is probably just a field with no particular views of any significance! We have total freedom to make impulisve decisions as to where we stay the night and we just love that. This is not so easy with a car and caravan and for us not being able to enjoy such freedom would be very restricting.
We have wild camped in some fantastic places and enjoyed some spectacular views and locations. locations that no campsite could ever equal. We dont wild camp to save money it is because we just love some of the idylic settings we have discovered and to me this is the true beauty of owning a motorhome. Don't get me wrong I have nothing against caravans at all and my best friend has a fanbulous one and it is really lovely. She and I often meet up together and spend a few days away together with our husbands enjoying the outdoor life. But our personal preference is a motorhome as it suits me and my husbands attitude to life better and I would never dream of critisising another persons freedom of choice. Each to their own I say and whatever someone prefers is no business of mine. I am very happy with my choice and see no reason to critisise other people's choices and I respect that what suits one person may not suit another. Wouldn't do for us all to think the same would it and what a boring uninteresting world that would be for us all?
Now as for towing a car with a motorhome .......... this does restrict you somewhat and is why we do not tow it every place we go as this would then mean we were not as free to come and go as we choose. But when we know we are visiting places where getting around in a largish vehicle may not be possible, or if we know we are staying stationary for a few days and we just want to park up and chill out then having our smart car is then a real bonus for us and enables us to arrive at the campsite, wind out the awning, get out the chairs and tables, set up the barby and away you go! It is on ocassions like this that having the use of our little car to get around in is a real asset and we can then just nip off as the mood takes us. Towing a car gives us an extra option and just adds even more joy to motorhoming for us. Whereas, when we know we are going to constantly be on the move, touring around and we want total freedom - then we ,simply eave the car behind at home and just carry our bikes! We love having this choice and we love having the Smart car and my husband drives it everyday. We do have another car which I drive and we are quite happy with our set up. So far from being madness tentpeg it suits us perfectly! It is our choice, our money and our preference and we just love it!

Regarding the motorhome and towing, we have a small campervan but with toilet and shower totally self sufficient but can understand the tow car need for some people.
Regarding the NHS and appointments being sent out. I have worked for the NHS for over 5 years and this is my greatest fear, however if no-one informs the hospital about a death this may occur. GPs do not routinely inform hospitals about patients deaths. If a relative rings the hospital this can be totally avoided. Personally if I hear a rumour that one of our patients has died I will investigate by ringing the GP/Hospice etc. I also have had a "deceased patient" turn up for an appointments but they and their relatives would never know this.
Please don't blame all NHS employees for appointment letters. If one of your relatives have died perhaps a phone call would avoid this.
A lot of NHS employees really care for their patients.
