We had one for our Bongo, so no idea how they fit on VW's. It's a great awning nice and light and airy. Took the pair of us about 15-20 to put it up (we are quite a good team when it comes to things like this). Had hoped to use it more as a gazebo in france this summer but we need to sleep in it also and the bedroom is a bit on the small side for my 6'5" OH, so it's on ebay at the moment. All in all was a great thing, if we didn't need to sleep in it would would not have parted with it
Have seen these on display at a few VW shows. Not really looked that closely, but from what I did see they look good. Quite adaptable because of all the doors and they look good on all the piccies on the link on here (I presume that's what you've looked at). T4's don't have gutters do they? I couldn't see what fixing's it is supplied with. If it comes with the pole & clamps then you may need to buy the suckers from Just Kampers to use on your van. Also think the bedroom goes at the end furthest from the van, which is a good idea.
Thanks for the info, may probably have swayed me to buy. Currently have an original Westie awning, but I like the look of the Navigator. Still, always good to hear opinion of someone who has used on in anger.
Have seen you ad on ebay heifer, but if I buy one I need one this weekend, as we are off to the New Forest next week, otherwise I would make a bid. Thanks for the info though. (And a Hampshire seller on Ebay can get me one this weekend, but don't tell the moderator !)
just purchased navigator awning worried that ground sheet is not attached? does this cause probs when raining and wind when using the inner tent/ thanks
I bought the Navigator last year to use with my VW T2. We only used it once, for a week in the dry, but I was more than happy with it. Took us a while to put up, but think that was just because it was first time (I hope), and my friend and are have never been the speediest or practical at this sort of thing. The finished article was not as stable as it should have been, and I´m glad we weren't using it in the wet, but that was our fault rather than the awning's.
Stacks of space inside, and the sleeping compartment was well used also. Will probably invest in some ground sheets for this year.
