Hi all please can you help us we have a 3way fridge in our ford frisky 89motorhome,it works on gas and battery but not on hook up .i had the mains checked and all working ok .a new one £600.were in kent is there we could buy second hand one or get this one repard ?we waite for your replies thank you ..ps new member..

I think you may need a new mains element, or maybe a thermostat.  Are you sure the mains is getting to the fridge?  Getting a replacement is a bit drastic if the rest of it works!

you may find the most cost effective way is to do away with your built in fridge & get a free standing 3 way fridge-aprox £140 from a caravan shop--a caravan repairer could probably repair your fridge if spares are available but labour costs aint cheap

dont take any notice of that quote of £600  its a rip off, by yourself a copy of MMM and look up acessory suppliers, and go from there,   kiev

I dont know whether your competent in electrics so be careful were main electricity is concerned.

But as said if mains is getting to the fridge terminal on hook-up then then usually the electric element has gone there not that dear to replace and can be easily tested to see if it has actually gone but you need to use a multimeter.

If there elements ok then the thermostat is suspect which again can be replaced.

Id carry on using it on Gas for now and put it on the list for the winter when you can take the fridge out and have time to sort it, you not causing any more damage.

Dont buy another one yet and they are nothing like £600 to buy anyway.
