Suppose it depends how much you pay.

We bought one last year half price in Woolworths sale for £12.

It meant that we didn't have to buy 12v chargers for our mobile phones as we can now take the normal home charger with us. So that saved us money.

We can also run a booster aerial to improve TV reception which is on a 3 pin plug.

We can charge the rechargeable batteries for our camera on a charger which is also 3 pin.

We think ours is great!

Waste of money if you do not have a use for one, well worth the money if you do. I find mine invaluble when there is no hook-up available, charges the laptop, mobile phone, AA battery charger & razor, runs my hi-fi and an energy efficient 9w bulb in my table lamp. I know there are alternative ways of achieving all the above and perhaps slightly more energy efficient ways but the inverter works fine for me.

i use a lot of electricity and have some mains only things.

i have a waeco inverter which gives 3Kw peak, 2Kw for 30 mins & constant 1.6Kw.

it is wired into the MH wiring circuit so when i press the button all the 240v sockets have mains power without hookup.

so i can run - breadmaker, TV, Sky+ box, washing machine, spin dryer, toaster, vacuum cleaner etc.

i save an average of £10 a night because i don't have to use campsites. it will pay for itself.

yes i think it was worth the money

3Kw at 240 volts = app 250 amps required from the 12 volt input side of the inverter, you must have a large bank of batteries!

hi saxo1

4 X 125Ah Elecsols. i haven't run out of juice yet.

2 X 75W solar panels top them up & sterling battery to battery charger keeps them fully charged when on the move.
