I've read somewhere about suction clamps for attaching drive away awnings to motorhomes.  Sounds ideal....does anyone have any information on them?

I tried some on my VW T25 High Top, they were the ones from Just Kampers.

I sent them back as I could not get the to stay on. They seem a good idea and I think may work, depends on the shape and make up of the roof.

If you have a gutter then figure of eights are OK or the pole and clamp, if not then maybe getting some J rail fixed on would be best.

We don't have a gutter. The only place we could have figure of eight fitted is a fibreglass section above the door, but it sounds hollow so we're dubious about getting a good fixing.  Also not terribly keen on drilling into it.

The fibreglass section is completely flat though, so maybe the suction clamps would be ok on that.
