Hi - recently posted a query about VW campers, (splits or bay) - I was wondering if they would fit in an average 50s sized garage which I have? I imagine they would deteriorate if left on the road. Thanks for any info.

Hi, It may depend if your garage opening is 6'  6 or 7' high and if an up and over door is fitted. We had a T2 without rising roof in a 7' high garage with an up and over door. If memory serves the standard VW Splitty is 6' 4 high. Some of the poptops and sideways opening roofs increase the height considerably

Hi- Dont forget more harm can be done to a vehicle if put away in a garage WET than being left outside , they dry off very quickley in the wind and provided they are washed regulary and given a good waxing all sould be well. Security of course is another matter. kiev

Damp garages are the worst option. Our bay lives outside covered with Just kampers cover and is fine keeps off worst of weather but lets it "breath". Westy type 2 is 2.1 metres high by the way!
