just picked up what turns out to be a restoration project, looks like it needs a new sliding door which I need to source and two wheel arches and the passenger window doesn't open. Anyway just before I got home the water tank bracket broke and I managed to park it up somewhere safe, it's hanging on one bracket, it has tax and mot but I'm a bit dubious as the rust is quite sharp in places, but as I don't know much about these things I will probably just put it through another mot and get it checked again for safety.
the van is a renault trafic T1000 F reg, I really need to either get the tank safely on or taken off (it was held up with two brackets and a plank of wood) as far as I can see in the dark, but I don't know who to get to do it, I'm close to East London, Chingford, Loughton Essex area.
Does anyone know of anyone local to me with a mobile service, I really need some contacts for this problem and others that are likely to come up
I would really like to do this van up again and need to drive it whilst my jeep is fixed too

well I sold it on ebay then the engine water pump stopped working so had to back out of the sale. Looks like I will be doing this up, although it is damp smelling, I actually put bitumen all over the roof the other day because it was letting in water, I suppose this is gonna make it very hot in the summer as it's black but at least it might stop it leaking, the roof is so high I don't have to look at it at least lol.
It appears to need a new side door, I have no idea where to get one from apart from buying another van and stripping it, which will be inpractable where I live, the current door doesn't even lock so I have it tied up but not very securely from inside(this is my big worry at the moment as teenagers might get in, my friend did lock it once but I have never been able to do this since)) At least it has tax and mot for a few more months to try and get it back safe on the road.
It appears to need two rear wheel arches rear + welding to rear and probably two new back doors which are rusty on the inside at the bottom, although these can stay awhile as they will not be needed immediately for next mot.
As I'm still at university I probably won't start this work until January 2007 when I go to work again.
I think I will need a fridge and satellite system(it has hob, cooker and sink)and will also need to check the electrics (there is no leisure battery but there are wires and a fuse box of sorts for one) it has lots of 240 v plugs but I'm a bit scared to try them out, in case water has got in........I also need a waste and want to clean and underseal the bottom, and refit and probably hammerite the water tank. As I'm a real girly this might be more than a challenge for me, but I will have a go at fixing some of the rust and will get a book from the library on body repair.
Unfortunately I cannot dry this out with a heater at present but am working on finding somewhere to do this.

Thanks for the advice.
I think I may be able to track down a side door but it is likely to cost about £100 so I'm putting a padlock on it and worrying about it after Christmas when I have more money, the back doors are rusty with big holes at the bottom but only on the inside, they might well be fixable, I will have to take advice on this, they are £100 each from a breakers including delivery, but I will have to pay to have them fixed on and possibly the locks changed so this sure adds up to a tidy sum.
I'm looking at the van as a project now, it deserves a bit of TLC, so I will do it up gradually, I washed the cushion covers and took out the awning and it doesn't smell so bad now, I don't know if they're are damp spores at present without taking off the trim. would like to use it next spring/summer if possible, but I will have to feel confident in it and after my problems I don't at the moment.
