As previoulsy mentioned by the guys above, change it to a Leisure battery, try to get the AGM sealed type(they do not produce any of the nasty gases that the normal batteries do, they also have a very low self-discharge rate of from 1% to 3% per month, and are considered to be much safer.)
If you want to run your fridge of the leisure battery, you can !! but it will cost you money. You will need to have at least a couple fo leisure batteries (big ones - we have 2 AGM 110's) an inverter (1800W) and a source of charge for when stationary. Again you will need somthing quite large such as a solar panel.(125Watt) With this set up you do not need to plug into the mains electricity at all. But as mentioned this set up will cost you in the region of £1200+
This even has enough power to work the wifes hairdryer !!
We went away for 30 days without electirical hook up, just using the leisure batteries and the the forces of nature.
Another tip, - un-related. If you are in hot climates - South of France Spain etc, before you go of for the day fill a water container 3/4 full with tap water, leave it in the sun. When you get back you will have nice hot water that is more than sufficient to do the dishes in.
