Generators, very noisey,and antisocial, event he quite ones. I agree with the other comments regarding this.

Inverter is the way to go, you can take this one stage further by using a solar panel so if you are on site for a long time you do not have to worry about re-charging. Saying that 2 120A leisure batteries will last several days without any problem if only using low consumption.

I have 120W solar panel fitted, 2 off 120A leisure batteries, and 1800W inverter - more than adequate to run the toaster and wifes hair drier. Also saves all the hassle of having to hook up when on site

only trouble with more batteries is more weight!! Solor is expensive initially but very flexiable

i was looking into the weight issue the other day and this what i found obviously you don't know if all these batteries were bought and used together ie( if one will goose the other) but it shows there are altenatives when size and weight are issues

One other issue with batteries is that they should all be the same type, and preferably the same age, when I got my 2nd leisure battery several people said the samething (fortunatly was able to sell my other leiseure battery to my neighbour)

If you were parked next to our unit running your generator we would find it annoying and ask you to switch it off. If I saw it on arrival I would ask the site owner if he was aware of the annoyance they cause.

We have only experienced one that was sited 3 caravans away and it was a bind. Not only was the generator noisy but the family using it were also loud and inconsiderate.

When asked to reduce the noise at 10pm, they became agressive when I then called the site owner who instructed them to switch it off then and leave the following morning.

He would have had a half empty site if he had'nt.

WELL DONE edward we would have done the same

we where away 2 weeks in late oct with solar panel and 2 batteries no worries we lasted the whole time away

Good see other people having and using the "renewable source"

We went away for the whole of August, did not need to plug in once, and that included when the wife used the hair dryer

I would not like to be next to a van or MH with a generator
