Hello. Can you give me some advice re Gas alarms for our motorhome, If I understand this correctly you need 2 types - 1 that alarms if there is a gas  leak from our gas appliances on board and 1 that alerts you if someone tries to gas you-( only if going abroad?). We are new to motorhoming so not sure if we are being paranoid or just careful and also the best way to do this.  And where tyo get it from.....We cannot afford a fortune and would rather something you just plug in rather than expensive fitting , so if you have any ideas please let me know and I can ask Santa!

Hi Smiffy  Just fitted a gas alarm that does both. It cost £49, it detects Lpg and Ether. Its easy to fit, it has to be wired into the 12v,  (No battery required). Its worth the money for peace of mind if you intend to travel in Europe.I bought it from Harringtons, Delamere, Cheshire.   You can see it on www.sola-alarm.com  For Propane/Butane and Ether the alarm must be fitted approx 20cm from the floor, because these gases are heavier than air.
