Hi Smiffy Just fitted a gas alarm that does both. It cost £49, it detects Lpg and Ether. Its easy to fit, it has to be wired into the 12v, (No battery required). Its worth the money for peace of mind if you intend to travel in Europe.I bought it from Harringtons, Delamere, Cheshire. You can see it on www.sola-alarm.com For Propane/Butane and Ether the alarm must be fitted approx 20cm from the floor, because these gases are heavier than air.
