 anyone got any idea of the cost of having power steering fitted to a 1994 talbot express van, 

        .ellroy.

I had a Fiat Ducato 1993 with a duff power steering  about 5 yrs ago fortunately it was covered by secondhand dealer warranty . However i did ring a Fiat main dealer up and they quoted me £500 so i guess its going to be dear.

Is it the rack leaking or the pump thats not working have you checked the belt

 just had a quote from a company in dorset for power steering to be fitted to talbot express,  

             [dont all laugh at once]       £2000 50 plus vat..ellroy.

  Are you going to have it fitted at that price?

We had the whole motorhome refurbished for less than that!

Hi, snooper, we are just in the process of getting a quote from another co, called delfin designs, we have looked at the option of changing the van but we would not get a good enough px price.and would have to pay out a lot more money for another one. the symphony is in that good condition with very low mileage having the steering done is the cheapest option.   the reason for the steering is i have developed arthritus and it is very hard to manouvere at low speeds.

  Even with power steering it is still heavy when when it's cold but it warms up fairly quick (our power sttering was factory fitted though so it's old)
