We have a Renault Trafic. Holdsworth conversion with a high roof  (Rainbow)  Just come back from looking at the Fiamma awning in the title.  Now to fit this we have to add the awning rail.   My concern is this ...will the self tapping screws that go with the rail be secure enough on the side of the fibreglass roof.   I have no idea at the moment. If some one could assure me that this has been done before I will have no problem getting it put on.   Thanks for any forthcoming advice.  Muckaloo

I fitted one to fibreglass a few years ago. You first have to find out how thick the roof is, if its say 2mm or more it should be ok. Just remember not to overtighten the self tappers as they will 'spider' the fibreglass and weaken it. Also use a sealer under the rail when fixing, and use all the fixing holes on the rail.  Hope this helps.

Got the same thing as you are looking at. I`ve fitted the awning rail (Fiamma P section rail) into the full length gutter on my T25, pop-rivits holding it every 18", it`s hardly noticable, as only the slotted  part of the rail is visible above the gutter-line. Works great for me, tight clearance when opening the sliding side door, but I`v got round the peoblem of the door catching the awning "roof" by using an extra Fiamma "rafter" in the middle (came with the end-blocker screen) to stop the roof sagging. Ihave the end and full side screens, so get a privacy room when all set up.

I`ve got a pop-top, so can`t screw the rail to the fibreglass. I wouldn`t want to start drilling into anything that could let water in though.
