Just bought our first T25. Paid £500, it needs £150 worth welding for next mot and the paintwork needs some tlc, I think we got a good deal. Any advice from seasoned campers welcome.
Welcome - we have a Type 25, see my gallery - shes a real character, wouldnt sell her for all her little faults - you will find out that these vans hate to be left standing, and need to be given a run once a week, otherwise they get a bit cantakerous OH- Aircooled Mick has now rebuilt 2 of these engines, ours and his dads...he is just fitting a new lift up roof to her at the mo...just as well we are having some nice weather down this way!!!
At present van is getting some attention at garage, needs new battery and some welding as well as a bit of rust removal, not bad for the year though '82 only paid £500 for her.
Hope to be out in her in 2 weeks, going to Star Caravan Park in Alton, Staffs.
Hi I also have a T25 - see gallery pics. Mine's up for MOT next Friday. Only had to have a little welding last year and nothing the previous three years. Enjoy your T25.

Hi geraldine.tatters
(( Star Caravan Park in Alton, Staffs ))
Great site very close to Alton Towers
I go that way once a month my friend lives just 2 mins from the site .
enjoy your van
Our T25 has just gone through it's 24th M.O.T....and passed..... £45....the advisory sheet just said......one of the rear brake pipes is very slightly corroided....and the front number plate has a slight crack in it...........last year it just needed a new nearside suspension ball joint..... fortunatly when i took it in the speedo was working..... it's a brand new cable ..but it only works when it feels like it.... welcome to the forum M8...and yes i also think you got a real good bargain there..... ENJOY !!!!!!!!

I agree, it sound like a fantastic deal. We've had our 1983 T25 for 18 months, just passed its last MOT with no cost to us. We have spent a wee bit of money on it but nothing that we don't recuperate when holidaying for £6 a day on farm campsites!!!! Keep an eye on the paint work though, if the seals start to show signs of rust you should get them seen to ASAP. Oh and get an awning - it makes all the difference in the world!
As said .....get a drive away awning....it is great for when you are away for a week...it's like stepping out of the bedroom ( campervan ) and down into your front room....

we have one and absolutely love, and cop for this!
the guy i bought it off has phoned me up and hinted he's willing to pay me another £2000 over what i bought it for, (3 years ago) because he misses it so much and has not been able to find one he likes...tee hee!
heya.good find with your van.is it a camper?i bought mine for around the same price and was pretty good condition too.from what iv found since owning mine is definattly join the 80-90 club(really good advice and cheap spares),get insurance with adrian flux(very cheap for me)and i think they are probably the only vans that get more attention from people if they are tatty and have character other than perfect paintwork!!
