With much sadness we have decided to change the van and will soon be parting with our trusty 'Beryl'. She has been a star over the past 18 months travelling all over the UK and helping us to consume much of the red stuff on the way!

We need something wih a bit more space and can't afford to go up in price range to the T5 so have bought a Peugeot Boxer Stardream. I will really honestly miss the VW especially the engine noise - does that sound sad or what?

Anyway...... to all those other VW folks out there I will still carry on waving whatever van/camper/mh you are driving, I've even waved to white van men when I've not been concentrating

hopefully the next person to buy her will love her as much as we have,

Jane

Hi Jane
I am sure you will have loads of happy memories to keep you going but you will soon settle with your new van and I hope you will be very happy.

I understand about the waving as I found myself waving at a campervan driver today as he was filling up with petrol at a service station, I was parked at traffic lights and was in my car - don't know what he thought.

We changed from our VW T25 Westfalia to our current Hymer B534 last November and although I still miss the VW's character etc. there is no way I could go back to one now having enjoyed the bigger van, wouldn't mind a T25 Bluestar as a runaround though.

You do miss the old Vee Dubs, cos they are so cool. But they are no comparison to a new van, that does everything brilliantly, are loads more reliable, and are a lot more pleasure to drive.

We had our T25 for 7 yrs until we sold it a couple of months ago--yes I certainly miss it & I'll miss things like Vanfest---but having said that we go to France & down into Spain in the summer--& it just got too old---done loads of work on it over the years-new engine etc-but we had to have it brought back from France with a busted gearbox last year(cheers Green Flag!) so it had to go--rather than spend £20k+ on a modern T4--more cost effective was modern front end(Citroen Berlingo) & old back end ('88 Eriba Pan)---like you, Andy-tempted to get a Multivan or even a Doka to play with--dunno tho-gotta stop keep lookin on German ebay & mobile.de-----

Its probably in some Surfie's garage, having a restoration done on it.

It'll most likely be seen in Newquay this summer with Quicksilver stickers all over it.
