been on this site for just over a year now. And I have to say how much I love this site. people are always so friendly and you don't get silly people making silly/rude/nasty replies you get on some websites and the help and being able to trust the help you are getting is just great. campers + others that use this site that may not be campers in tents are great people.
I've not even been on here a month and I love it just for the information alone. So many things i would never have thought about like doing guy lines properly and info on sims have been so helpful
hi crangs81 yes the information is just amazing from all these great people. new or old to camping everyone has something to offer to make the trip that much safer fun etc.
That's one of the things I like about this site some folk will go out of their way to help answer a question...
I also like the fact...That weather you go camping once a year...Once a month...or once a week...everyone has something to contribute to the learning curve we are all on in this pastime of camping...
I like it that so many folk have a common interest...And can sense the excitement when you post about an upcoming trip...Or share your joy about waking up in a field somewhere....Not something that can be shared in the wider (Non camping ) world...

I also like* the fact that we can get caught up in stupid arguments.
If you use EHU, you aren't really a proper camper.
If you covet your neighbour's caravan, you are clearly the spawn of satan.
If you don't use deltas, your tent will fall over if you blow on it.
etc.
* I say "like", but it secretly drives me a bit mad, but that's the sort of thing friends do, isn't it?

Thing about camping is there is no regimented "Right" way of doing things...What suits you might not suit me...And I think that is reflected in some posts on here..
Take discussions on sleeping arrangements...Be that Sim on the ground...Sim on a campbed...or my personal choice fishing bed combined with a 4 season s/bag...No need to fall out over it...When someone asks..I state my preference and leave it at that...The person asking can make their minds up using the replies as a reference...
So true on so many threads on here...
The hints and tips I have gathered over the years simply from reading posts are invaluable and add so much to my camping experiences...Far from being an expert myself...If I can pass on a good tip...Then so be it...
