Hi boat mum! Welcome. My mum lives on a narrowboat and has now also bought a small motor home for when the stoppages are on! She was made up to get to the Isle of Skye! You wouldn't get there on a boat!
Living on a narrowboat is something I've often fancied doing but unless I ever win the lottery it will never become reality.
Several years ago my now-ex partner and I bought an old canal cruiser very cheaply with the intention of completely refurbing it inside and out then exploring the country's waterways as an extension of our camping breaks - it was a long project and we split up before it was ever finished so sadly I had to sell. I still have a great love of boats and water though, they make a good subject for my photos and often feature on my camping blog.

Its a wonderful lifestyle, sorry to hear you had to part with your cruiser

Thanks Bob, both for posting the link and thinking my blog is worth reading Tbh I write for myself as much as anything, readers are a bonus - and readers who think it's worth reading are a double bonus

One of my favourite areas is the Norfolk Broads. I've been holidaying near there since 1982 and in the early 90s made friends with a couple of the locals who had a boat; they often took us out on it and I spent many happy hours messing about on the water. They sold the boat about ten years ago and it was unfortunately lost in a fire at the boatyard where it was berthed. I still camp in that area every year and I've taken some great photos while exploring round the Broads. I've often considered having a boating holiday there but it would be far too expensive
