Walking the streets and parks, in restaurants, even DRIVING cars, they can't leave them alone for 2 seconds!"""""
If its EVERYONE then that includes you. Can I put generalisations into Room101 :-)
It’s probably been mentioned before, but cyclists on pavements are a risk to everyone including themselves. A high wall blocks my view to the right of my driveway so I inch out until I can see whether it’s safe to drive out across the pavement. A walker hears the engine & is slow enough to stop; I see them & reverse back so they can pass. But I’ve almost hit a speeding cyclist on several occasions. Always young lads, no helmets; never MAMILs.
Our neighbours dont insist their kid wears a helmet and they let him cycle with his headphones on listening to music - I guess they are following Boris's example, they sort of shrug about it "Well, what can you do?".......I have answers for that!!! Our daughter always wears a helmet, always has, doesnt know any different. :-)
Dont really get the pavement issues round here unless its families with young young children, which is fair enough while they are learning (here the kids have helemts but the parents often dont, presumably because the ageing process has given theme indestructible heads), I guess it's because the roads are so quiet anyway (was very different in Bristol yesterday), although it is confusing which are accredited as cycle lanes and which arent.
Its mamils round our way, masses of them hunting in packs shouting at each other to take out the huge groups of runners who seem to think their running is better if its done on the road rather than the pavement. Its a bit like Death Race 2000.
On the subject of cyclists, riding 4 abreast in front of you (in a car) so you can't overtake. Horse riders, especially the ones who flap at you to slow down when you are already doing 5mph.
The amount of excessive packaging in boxes - usually from Amazon. Those polystyrene chippings are the worst. Open the box and put your hand in to find your buried little item and the chippings go flying all over the floor!
Cabling - especially with computers, printers and TVs are all linked together. Despite labelling them all up they still manage to get tangled up.
Yesterday we were alongside a car with the driver on his phone, who had narrowly avoided a collision with an e-scooter who had swerved to avoid a cyclist that jumped a red light.
What is point of passing laws if they are never enforced?
Actually, I do enjoy a garnish of pea shoots, I love the fresh spicy crunch. I seem to be alone in this, so I get other people’s pea shoots too.
But as it’s Room 101 of annoyance, my dislike is an equal mix of hot & cold on the plate. Hot pie makes adjacent lettuce & rocket go floppy. Cold coleslaw cools the hot steak pie.
