Last Thursday I became invisible and a car driver attempted a right turn in front of my motorbike. All caught on CCTV. I hit her front wing and flew over the bonnet. She is getting prosecuted. Said she didn't see me. I had headlights, hi vis and visibility was excellent.
Anyhoo. I have:
Broken C2 and T2 spine.
Broken right wrist.
Broken left hand.
Severe soft tissue damage to right leg.
Arterial damage at back.
3 mini strokes due to artery.
I'll be in the neck brace for 3 months and in physio so will wait and see.

So sorry to hear this, thank goodness it was caught on CCTV. I am an ex biker and my son still has bikes as well as his car, so am aware of the dangers.
Take care and keep us updated with your progress Ewen.

Love bikes, most of my friends (male and female!) have been or still are bikers, but am so acutely aware of the consequences of OTHER peoples actions and how vulnerable you are to them.
Little consolation I'm sure, even in a big bright red car with bright daylight running lights/headlights at night, I also seem to be invisible to MANY other road users! Seem to be a lot of blind people driving these days!!!!!
Ewen c ,Very sorry to hear of your Terrible Accident .
What an Idiot of a Driver Cutting across you and Causing all your Injuries .
Oblivious NOT seeing you on your Motorbike
With all your Hi-Vis Gear on .
Anyway
Wishing you all the best with your recuperation
And Recovery
Ouch, you poor blighter! You have a lot of healing to do; hope you have people around to help you through it. At least there's cctv evidence of the driver's idiocy. You need your wits about you all the time and this person's wits were obviousy elsewhere.

Very sorry to hear this. I wish you a speedy recovery.
Brought back memories, because that is exactly what happened to me about 40 years ago. I was lucky as I only suffered a smashed right leg. There was no cctv there, but 3 ladies walking along the pavement witnessed the event and told the police they had clearly seen me and they did not have to.
A very junior officer talked to me while the paramedics were preparing me for the ambulance. When in there and about to leave, the senior officer came to speak to me and and sounded pretty p*********** off. As I later learnt when interviewed a few days later, that officer’s son was out that evening on his first motorbike outing and had clearly expected to find his son laying there. Obviously, by the time he got there he was not in the best of moods.
Anyway, I feel for you Ewen. Hope all goes well with your recovery.
That’s very serious stuff. No WHW for you this year, but you’ll have lots of great walking trips to look back on while you’re mending. As they say in NZ - kia kaha (stay strong). M
