I'm still here, getting ready to go out with our Wednesday walking group. Looks fine now but it was raining when we got up. Just hoping it's not too muddy out there!
Rain? One wet day yesterday in a lovely long Indian Summer: plants wilting in the pots outside, so we needed it, glorious autumn colours. Off soon to a CAMC site that’s only 30 minutes away so we’ve never stayed there, to use the Club’s “one free night” code; the dog will enjoy a different walk. The other CAMC sites are 3 hours away & that’s too far just now.
Well, it's brilliant sunshine and very warm here! Where is here? Crete
Not in the van though, but have seen about 3 or 4 German motorhomes around while we've been here.
I'm just sorting caravan out ready tomorrow for Harwich Shanty Festival. Four days of beer and singing. I run the caravan site for the weekend. 15 years I've been doing it. Fully booked this weekend. 60 odd vans and MHs.

Now at Hampton House CL and the owner said it's been very quiet this year.
Not surprised. I am not on FB but one can read recent posts. I think there has been a big increase in MHs using apps & FB to find places to park overnight for free or near as (eg pay 10 quid for toilet waste disposal & fresh water at an aire on a Croft). NC500 is thick with such FB sites (but nc500 the dirty truth - worth a look).
The majority of folks are responsible - one app has people regularly posting about clearing up litter from whatever lay-by they used - but sadly, it can mean car parks are full & nearby sites are nowhere near capacity, even at the height of a good summer. It has resulted in a change to overnight parking regs at Scarborough & elsewhere.
It does puzzle me that people opt for car parks because they do not want to be corralled in so-called regimented campsites, but park up in touching distance of each other quite happily with no concern for fire safety or privacy. Whatever rocks your boat, I guess.
I am out of the country for an extended period to spend time with my family, in a time zone that is 8h behind UK.
No camping for a while until I get back, hopefully at the beginning of March 2025.

I seriously doubt that it has anything to do with being on a so-called regimented site, it is down to the fact it is free or the nominal sum of £10
