Due to the ages of our girls, we’ve changed them over to Harrington (always been on that brand) senior food. The cocker seems okay but the retriever ( yes, I know) doesn’t seem to like it. If she wasn’t her normal self, we would start worrying about her as I’ve never known a retriever to refuse/leave food! I want to keep them on a senior food but perhaps something different… any suggestions would be appreciated.
Our spaniel types have always been on Harringtons, fed twice a day. (Currently it’s a cocker.) Our Kennels use Burns, but I think that’s only available in Scotland. We have always mixed it with Butchers tripe mix as that has different ingredients than kibble (comparing ingredient labels), a tin lasts 2 days.
As the Springer got older & more frail, she got a raw egg daily - we went back to a “wolf” diet, so to speak: finding a nest to raid, effectively. Extra protein. Current Cocker thinks a raw egg is blaaahhh.
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
The vet noticed the older retriever has slight arthritis in her hind knee and suggested diet that had more of what she needs . It’s about the same price. I think it’s fish based , going by the smell. Will have a look when I go to the pet shop.
Weve have had a yorkie for 12 months now, weve tried all makes of dog food, our chicken or roast beef dinner, she will go 3 or 4 days before having a bit to eat,we told the vet he said dont worry shes put weight on and shes full of life, with the amount she eats you would would think she would have no energy, when family or anybody she knows visit she goes mad licking and wrigling till you carnt hold her,but it would be nice to see he eat something
Used to feed our spaniel on Skinners field and trial light mix until it got expensive, now on Burgess supadog and seems to enjoy it just as much.
Have you tried adding some wet food into it? Perhaps the kibble on its own is tough to chew?
Weve tried everything thats been suggested to us, nothing up to yet worked, she has so much energy i think she must get the maximum amount of vitamins etc out of what little she does eat,
All about dog food is excellent for checking out the food you are feeding, their instagram reports are also great. They recently did a report on Harringtons
