A Samsung too. Strange thing is that the date and time is in French. Surely no native French speakers around here. Any suggestions as to what we do with it? Can't imagine that the plod would be interested.
The Police may well be interested as someone could have probably thrown the phone away for some logical reason and may be vital evidence to a crime or it could even be a missing person from possibly from France. It's been know recently for the odd person to disappear and fall into a river or lake. Whatever the reason, the phone must belong to somebody so the best advice is to hand it in to the Police.
I don’t know about Samsungs but on my phone, you can access an emergency contact number even when the phone is locked. Have a look on the Lock Screen and see if there is an emergency symbol. If you can get their emergency contact number, they will know who owns the phone. Otherwise, I would hand it in to the police.
It's with our Romanian neighbour, he has lots of people who work him and many contacts, says the girl with French A level (a long time ago) who should know that Februarie is not French. It suddenly occurred to me that Romanian is a Latin based language.
