Yes indeed. Loved them and saw them (not heard because of the screaming) twice. Still have John Lennon's books, bought much to Mum's disgust! I also used to buy a weekly magazine, very early when they were in Hamburg, cost 6d and had to be hidden from Mum!

My older brother was obsessed with the Beatles, especially John Lennon, therefore so was I! He even got himself some round rimmed glasses like JL used to wear, even though he didn't need glasses! We'd go downstairs early on weekend mornings before our parents were up and sing Beatles songs, accompanied by my brother on the guitar. I too still know the words to many Beatles songs!

My wife was a big fan, and we've still got many of their vinyl albums. A few singles too I think. We can play hem again now too as I recently rebuilt our 1970s stereo system that had been up in the loft for years!

When I worked At Lewis's Store in Manchester in the Sixties.
I used to go on the Back stairs
for a good Echo Acoustics
And played this song
People passing by dropped money into my guitar bag

Later on I got a Twelve String Guitar .
And It sounded more like the Real thing .
"Oh Happy Days"

I never liked the beatles or the rolling stones,but when Sgt Pepper had a 40th anniversary I downloaded it and discovered what a talent john Lennon really was,some of his music after the beatles split is wonderful

At school in the 60s we were all mods or rockers, Beatles or Stones. I had a Cathy McGowan hairstyle at the time. Mum "if I had a fringe like yours I would curl it" what???? I used to sellotape it down after washing it.

Wasnt a great early beatles fan but loved their later stuff and like many others thought john was the most tallented.
must point out stand by me was a cover of Ben e kings song and in my oplnion both equaly good and imagine has been confirmed by juluan lennon as being co wrote by Yoko ono.

Johns death was one of those I still remember exactly where I was and the absolute anger and distress that someone who was begining to write some wonderful music was taken from the world.

I have followed the Beatles since the early Sixties .
And love Their Music
A couple of songs I can relate to are
" There's a Place "
Also "In My Life"
I find the words Reminiscent
And Remind me of
'Time's gone By'

I`m afraid it is a plodding mess IMO.

If it had been released by `an unknown artist` it would have - rightly - been binned for being a boring dirge. A bit like the `boyband` stuff people buy it because of who it is, not what it is. Never been able to understand that.
