I've posted on here before about my 90 year old mum but I must share the latest with you. On Monday my niece (mums eldest grand-daughter) and her hubby are taking mum to RAF Halten to watch my great nephew (mums great grandson) pass out of basic training for the RAF. The parade is on Tuesday and mum is so excited as Adam will have three generations there to see him. We have always been a military family from mum and dad both being in the army during the war and we still follow all parades etc for dads old lot, The Royal Tank Regiment.
Thanks for reading, I'm one very proud great aunt.
Congratulations, I have a son in the RAF and his pass out parade at RAF HAlton was a day I shall never forget. I was so proud of everyone.Hope everyone has a fantastic day, especially your Mum
It will be a very proud day for all of you. My son has just retired from the Coldstream Guards after 23 years service and we all all so proud of him. Enjoy.
Congratulations.
It is indeed a proud moment, when one of your own pass out.
An even greater day, when they receive a medal, upon return from some far flung war zone (Afghanistan, in our case). Obviously, there's a hell of a lot more emotions involved, but the pride still remains!
Mine was a Nimrod. Very big and VERY loud but not as spectacular as the pass out parade the week before us. 3 Lightnings doing aerobatics over RAF Swinderby was a sight I shall never forget.
------------- I've heard it all. I've seen it all. I've done it all. I just don't remember any of it.
One day she may join a real service - The Royal Navy Seriously BZ to her and hope she enjoys life in HM Forces as much as I did! Royal Navy Submarine Service 1980-1996 then 6-years in the surface fleet. Good times!
