My OH's employers use RBS and nobody has been paid.
We're okay but I feel so sorry for people left without money who don't bank with Natwest or RBS but aren't getting funds because pay isn't making it through.

Update to say that Nationwide who we bank with are now offering help to people waiting for credits in. Godd no know they're helping out.

And just early this morning I had a spoof email claiming to be from NW asking me to log in via the link supplied..... Yeah right!,, but unfortunate ly some unsuspecting soul will fall for it... The official NW email turned up around 11pm

My money is on the staff at Nat West/RBS still getting their huge bonuses at the end of the financial year regardless of the massive issues they have created for their customers !!!

When you think about how most of the traffic cameras/ lights etc are controlled by computers (and that's just one area of computer control) I would expect total mayhem on the roads, and anarchy as all the theives realised there was no CCTV to identify them.

Lets hope they never do... We would have to go back to the 50's, when computers took up a whole room and everyone had to pay their bills and do their shopping manually, and little drawers instead of sophisticated cash tills. Oh and waiting for the bank to open to extract your money physically!

It doesn't bear thinking about!

Thing is the staff that man the tills and do their job correctly also get tagged in with this and other stuff that is done by the commercial side that they have no influence over.

Following the announcement that the RBS was open this morning my son drove 12 miles to town to get his money.

They apologised and asked him to come back later, the safes were time-locked and they could not open them as it was outside of normal working hours.

My Sis is with RBS and her wages were paid in (during a check on-line) so she went out and did her shopping and paid some bills, etc. When she returned home, the money had disppeared from her account and she was £400 overdrawn. It's happened to another member of staff who works at the same place as well. It's now Tuesday and still not sorted out.
