I went to a camp site which had a "it depends on the dog" clause. When we went with out husky it turned out it was dogs on the dangerous dogs act list, and wolf cross breeds.

I really do despair!

People (including campsite owners) really need to educate themselves on dogs/dog breeds.  Just because a dog looks similar to a wolf doesn't mean it's going to eat you!

Never seen an aggressive husky, or heard of one in the media that has attacked anyone.

Wonder if they include Wolfhounds as the one I knew was more likely to lick you to death than anything else.

We have a Staffie cross who is gentle as butter.

Yet I have known a Yorkie that I wouldn't put my hand near for fear he would have had my fingers off - yet people saw this cute little dog being carried around everywhere.

To avoid future problems wouldn't it be better if folks just called the site they intend to visit, be totally honest about who will be visiting and book or not book.
Its simple, if the site doesn't suit you, don't book it !!

One of the reasons I go camping is that it is a great holiday for the dogs too.

We have now found another site in another part of Yorkshire where we have been told dogs are so welcome they are compulsory! (and it's almost half the price)

The point I want to make is that manners cost nothing, and poor customer service can not really be an option in these difficult times.

Hi where is your new site, it sounds like you will be made most welcome. We have a dog and would love to try sites like this.

Yes, please do tell. It sounds like just the place I'd enjoy going to with my two little dogs.

Not if our Jack sniffs your 2 little ones out first.
We might all get banned and there all small manageable dogs . On a lighter note how you keeping Tiggs ?

Our little newly discovered site is called Sheepwalk Cottage Camping in West Lutton, Yorkshire about 7 miles from Malton. Only 7 pitches, with a loo, no shower but EHU. There is one review on here, several on the C&CC and it sounds ideal.

I'm fine thanks, and so are my two little furries - I always smile when I think of Jack with the two of them. It's Sugar's birthday on Sunday, she'll be 14, so I think a few extra dog treats that day - or maybe a small 'cake' made out of dog food.

Funny it was Jacks birthday the other day, he was 2. The site near Malton looks lovely. Must meet up now summer has finaly arrived. Take care.

Jackie if you read my post correctly you are the one being rude I was joking with Tiggermouse that small manageable dogs can even get out of control and get people thrown off campsites. Don`t care what size a dog is as long as its friendly and well behaved.

It looks like the little site we have found is going to be a little gem. Although its not in the area we particularly wanted, it is in a part of Yorkshire I've never really been to, so looking forward to visiting somewhere new!

let me know where it is please, as looking for another site in yorkshire with our dog!! tricia

Just came back from a site, no restrictions on how many dogs or what type, as long as they are on a lead or tethered outside, but not to the awning poles of the trailer tent like the people over in the next pitch, we walked our dogs past ,then out of nowhere three dogs came running from inside the awning barking, unfortunately they were tied to the awning poles, so as they pulled the awning came down. Followed by one irate owner
